Spread the Word: Beverly Elementary Finalist in Walmart Earth Day Challenge 
Education

Beverly Elementary has been named a finalist in the Walmart "Earth Day Every Day School Challenge." This contest was designed to recognize schools that are making small, every day changes to help the environment. As a finalist, Bevery Elementary will receive a $500 Walmart gift card, and the chance to win the grand prize: a $20,000 grant from Walmart to further environmental projects.

The school has entered a short video and essay, showcasing the school's environmental activities and projects, and is posted at  http://www.earthdayeverydaychallenge.com.

Adults 18 years of age or older can register at the site and vote for the school they believe should be awarded the grand prize, based on the following criteria
(weighted equally):

  • Involvement of the student body in initiating/continuing the eco-friendly activities/projects/efforts
     
  • Demonstration of the school's commitment to eco-friendly practices
     
  • Originality/creativity of the eco-friendly activities/projects/effort

The school that receives the highest number of votes will be awarded the $20,000 grant. The video is titled, "Beverly Green." Voting will end on June 19 at 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time, so please visit the site as soon as possible to cast your vote!
