Zerwell Energy Inc (ZE) is an energy consulting company in southeast lower Michigan...USA.

For the past 35 years the President, Charles Bagwell, has investigated all forms of energy sources, looking for the most efficient energy systems that he could recommend to people.

In all those years of searching only three technologies really got him excited.

The first, 20 years ago, was the Earth Coupled Closed Loop Heat Pump (ECHP) This system is about 400% efficient. In other words you use 1 unit of electricity to move 4 units of heat from the groundmass into your home for heating and hot water. In the summertime you move the heat from your home back into the hot water tank and into the ground, saving it up for winter. A system was built at his home and has been saving 30% annually on the electric bill.

The second technology is Electro Plasma Arc Gasification (EPAG) that turns all known wastes into usable forms of energy, such as electricity, biodiesel fuel, or ethanol. This system is between 400% and 1000% efficient. Organic and inorganic waste, when fed into an EPAG furnace (Cupola) will turn into a mixture of Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrogen (H2). Anything that doesn't turn into a gas comes out the bottom as glass, which can be used to build roads, make building bricks, or for other uses.

The third technology is Land Fill Gas (LFG), a renewable energy source. The methane given off by landfills is a greenhouse gas and contributes to global warming. Drawing off the gas and converting it to other forms of energy is a good thing. ZE is pursuing LFG renewable energy projects. However, the gas recovery systems are only 70-80% efficient, which allows methane to escape to the environment. That is why ZE is a proponent of eleminating all landfills Nationwide.
