Davison Township Gets "Greener" with Rewards for Recycling Program
Member News

5-8-09

Davison Township, MI - Davison Township has become a lot greener by incorporating the Rewards for Recycling program for all residents.  The program launched in Davison Township in mid April, and in the first full recycling period, the number of households participating in the curbside recycling effort increased by nearly 50%.  The total volume of recyclables collected from the Township was almost triple past periods.

Davison Township Supervisor, Kurt Soper, is excited about the value the township is offering back to the residents, and for the emphasis this program will place on the importance of Recycling.  "This is an exciting program that will allow every Davison Township resident to reap rewards and savings, plus help the community wide effort to Go Green and divert tons of recyclables away from area landfills."

Rewards for Recycling, a Davison based company, is now serving Davison Township as well as Grand Blanc and Genesee Townships.  The program provided recycling Identifier tags to each residence.  Once placed on Recycling Bins, every occasion that the household participates in the curbside recycling service, they get authorized to receive valuable savings from local merchants.  Savings opportunities are available to all residents within the program, simply for signing up on-line.  Just for starting their accounts, Davison Township residents received nearly five dollars in free offers from Little Caesars Pizza and 7-11 stores.

Michael Eichhorn, President of Rewards For Recycling, stated that the company is thrilled with the initial response in Davison Township.  "We were very proud to launch the Rewards For Recycling program in the Davison area, We have been working hard on this project for some time."  "The results thus far from Davison Township are exciting". "This is truly a four way winning proposition, The community wins, the residents benefit with savings, the local businesses benefit from the offers and, of course, most importantly, the environment wins."   Participation in the reward offers is free to area businesses, and their offers will be available to all residents through the Rewards For Recycling website.  www.rewardsforrecycling.com
