Granholm Economic Plan - November 2007
Government News
With a responsible budget solution in place for 2008, Governor Granholm is once again focusing all her energy on enacting her comprehensive economic plan for Michigan. As part of that plan, the governor is taking steps to secure Michigan's status as the world leader in the research and production of alternative energy technology. She knows that, for Michigan, green energy means great jobs

Experts have predicted that, within the next 25 years, hundreds of millions of new jobs will be created in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries. Governor Granholm is making sure that most of those jobs land right here in Michigan. That's why she's traveling across the country and around the globe to talk with business leaders and government officials about why Michigan is the best place to grow alternative energy companies. Click here to read about the governor's 2-day jobs mission to California in our blog.

She's also talking with alternative energy companies already here in Michigan to make sure they have the tools they need to expand and create new jobs. Click here to learn more about the governor's alternative energy meetings across the state.

With a comprehensive plan to diversify our economy in new areas like alternative energy and a bold vision to break our state's dependence on energy from outside our borders, Governor Granholm is doing everything she can to make sure Michigan takes steps to protect our environment and create thousands of new jobs.

But you can make a difference, too.

Making just one small change in your regular routine can help conserve valuable resources and keep Michigan green for generations to come. Visit our new website, www.SmallStepBigChange.com, to find out how you can take a small step to make big change.
