 Michigan GREEN at the Michigan School Business Officials First Annual Energy Solutions Symposium

Michigan GREEN conducted breakout sessions at the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) First Annual Energy Solutions Symposium on March 12th at the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center in Grand Rapids. The keynote speaker was Dr. Imad Mahawili, Executive Director of the Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center, who discussed Michigan’s energy resources and the role that renewable energy can play in meeting energy needs, and the financial impact it can have on Michigan.

Dr. Mahawili provided the 100+ attendees with an overview of current United States oil consumption of 21 million barrels per day which 70% is imported, translating to a cost of $1.2 billion per day at $60 per barrel.

 ACORE teams up with Partners GREEN and their Project EverGreen Schools Initiative in an effort to transition America's schools

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) announced today that it has joined forces with Partners GREEN in signing a letter to President Obama voicing its strong support for the Partners GREEN's project, "Onsite Renewable Energy, Efficiencies and Education at Our Nation's Schools." ACORE and Partners GREEN will ask ACORE Members to join in signing this "Letter to President Obama" before the letter is delivered to the President on February 26, 2009, through the RETECH Conference in Las Vegas, NV.

President Obama has publicly made it a priority to bring renewable energy efficiencies and education to our nation's schools.  ACORE shares his vision and is proud to announce that at our RETECH Conference in Las Vegas, NV, on February 26th, ACORE will join with Partners GREEN to deliver a petition to President Obama in support of the Partners GREEN initiative, "Onsite Renewable Energy, Efficiencies and Education at Our Nation's Schools" to promote energy literacy, onsite energy efficiency and renewable energy generation.  Director of Development Joins Michigan Green

Kevin Meaton has joined Michigan Green as Director of Development to oversee membership services. “This is a great opportunity to help build the foundation of the renewable energy sector, and I look forward to helping Michigan Green grow and service its members.” Previously, Meaton has worked in the transportation, education, broadcast, and real estate industries. A graduate of Michigan State University College of Business, and Western Michigan University College of Education, Meaton has owned two small businesses and held numerous leadership roles in community service organizations.
